As a staff editor for The Times, responsible for coordinating and editing breaking news coverage worldwide. Assign and edit news, feature and investigative articles. Plan daily news coverage, drive social media promotion, and direct online and print production. From 2000 to 2004, I oversaw coverage of New York City and the metropolitan area for The Associated Press, leading a staff of 25 reporters and editors. As New York City news editor, I helped direct AP’s coverage of the Sept. 11 attack; the crash of American Airlines Flight 587; the blackout of August 2003; and the financial crimes trials of Martha Stewart and others.
